Wales face a tricky test against Denmark in League A4 of the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League.
Victory would lift Wales up to second if Norway fail to beat to Portugal, although a draw would be enough if Norway lose their game.
Denmark will stay second with a win but a draw could be enough if Norway lose to Portugal.
Team News
Wales have no fresh injury concerns after their 2-1 comeback victory against Norway.
Denmark will be without Mikkel Damsgaard after he suffered a knock during their 4-2 loss to Portugal, with Mathias Kvistgaarden called up to replace him due to a shortage in midfield options.
Nikolas Nartey is also sidelined with a thigh injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Wales host Denmark at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday 4 October at 7:45pm BST, live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer across the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wales have lost all three previous Nations League meetings against Denmark (L3).
- Denmark won 2-1 in their only previous Nations League away trip to Wales in November 2018.
- Denmark have scored twice in all three previous Nations League meetings against Wales, which included a pair of 2-0 home wins and a 2-1 away victory.
- No Wales player has produced more shots in their three group matches so far than Neco Williams, with the fullback having attempted five shots in three appearances.
- Mikkel Damsgaard has been involved in three of Denmark’s six goals in their first three matches, having produced two goals and one assist in three appearances.
Prediction
Having finally found their groove with a superb attacking play to come from behind against Norway, Wales must now take the confidence from that win and apply that belief here because this is very winnable if they can bring the same fight and be more clinical than they were away against the Danes.
Denmark meanwhile were never really going to beat Portugal but to score twice against them from behind to level their clash is a small positive, but the Portuguese were really just too strong in the end so this is a chance to reset in a game where they will be favourites.
Damsgaard though is a huge miss in terms of attacking creativity so Wales need to find a way to capitalise upon his absence, but I do think that Denmark will still just be too strong.
Prediction: Wales 1-2 Denmark
Result: Wales 0-1 Denmark
