Beth Hull’s 40th-minute winner saw Bromley Women defeat Reading 1-0 at the CopperJax Community Stadium to qualify for the first round of the 2026-27 Women’s FA Cup.

Hull netted the only goal of the game five minutes before half time to settle a tightly-fought third round qualifying tie in South-East London, although the Ravens could of won by a further goal which had been ruled offside in the 78th minute.

The result in front of a club-record 1,208 spectators also meant that Reading had been eliminated at this stage in consecutive seasons – having lost 2-1 at home to Brentford in this round in the 2025-26 season, laying a mark of how far the club had fallen since they were semi-finalists in 2018-19.

Bromley now will discover their first round opposition on Monday 5 October at 7pm BST in the draw, which will be streamed live on the Women’s FA Cup YouTube channel.

The draw will be regionalised into Northern, Midlands and Southern sections, with Bromley placed in the latter section where they could be drawn against teams like Barking, Brentford or a third-tier team like AFC Wimbledon or Fulham as the Women’s National League Premier Division clubs enter at this stage.
