Millwall face West Ham in a massive London derby in the 2026-27 Sky Bet Championship.
Victory could lift Millwall up to fifth for at least a few hours if Charlton fail to win at Cardiff, whilst West Ham can stay top with a win.
Team News
Romaine Esse is ruled out for Millwall after he missed their 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough in midweek due to an ankle injury.
Lukas Jensen (quad), Alfie Doughty, Ryan Leonard, Mihailo Ivanovic, Mathis Servais (all hamstring), Tristian Crama (ankle), Josh Coburn (foot), Kyrell Lisbie and Casper De Norre (both calf) remain sidelined.
West Ham will be without defender, Joel Veltman after he missed their 3-2 Carabao Cup exit against Fulham due to a knock.
Alphonse Areola (dead leg) and Tomas Soucek (ankle) remains sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Millwall host West Ham at The Den on Saturday 19 September at 12:30pm BST, live on ITV1, ITVX, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Millwall have lost one of their last eight league meetings against West Ham (W3, D4, L1).
- West Ham are winless in their last five visits to Millwall (D2, L3).
- Alex Neil’s Lions have kept clean sheets in two of their three league matches at home so far this season (W2, L1).
- West Ham are yet to keep an away clean sheet in the Championship this season (W1, D2).
Prediction
Having led 2-0 at half time through some clinical counter-attacking play, Millwall should feel disappointed that they couldn’t withstand Middlesbrough’s second-half pressure but it will be a valuable lesson because they will have to be much tighter if want to keep West Ham quiet.
West Ham though will be right up for this local derby given it’s rarity in the last 20 years and boast the better quality who should certainly give Millwall’s defence a lively test, whilst their Carabao Cup defeat after fighting back twice to level will give them some extra motivation to atone.
I therefore am expecting a strong battle because both teams are capable of a promotion push and although the Hammers are in strong goalscoring form, I do think that their defensive vulnerabilities might gift Millwall a point.
Prediction: Millwall 2-2 West Ham
Result: Millwall 2-2 West Ham
