2026-27 Sky Bet Championship: Week Seven – Sunday

Sheffield United face Wolves in a mid-table Sky Bet Championship clash at Bramall Lane.

Victory will lift Chris Wilder’s Blades up to sixth, although a win by four goals or more would move them up to fifth.

Wolves meanwhile can leapfrog the Blades with a win and go seventh in the table.

Team News

Sheffield Utd have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 midweek win at Blackburn.

Harrison Burrows (quad), Femi Seriki (knee), Tahith Chong (muscle) and Ryan One (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Wolves could welcome Kieran Trippier back into contention after nearly one month out with a knee injury.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (hamstring) and new signing – Bertrand Traore are also set to be available.

Yerson Mosquera and Rafik Said remain absent with respective ankle and muscle injuries.

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Wolves at Bramall Lane on Sunday 13 September at 12pm BST, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Sheffield Utd have won one of their last four league meetings against Wolves (W1, L3).
  • Wolves have won just one of their last four league trips to Sheffield Utd (W1, L3).
  • Patrick Bamford has scored in both of Sheffield Utd’s last two matches at home (W1, L1).
  • Wolves are yet to keep a clean sheet in the Championship this season, having conceded 10 goals and scored 13 goals in their first five matches.

Prediction

Having enjoyed a solid start to the campaign with just one defeat, Sheffield Utd now ideally need to put some consecutive wins together if they want to really get into the early automatic promotion mix and cut out their defensive errors of their last four games.

Wolves though do have their own defensive issues with no clean sheets this season in the league and having twice blown narrow leads in their 2-2 draw at Birmingham, which is a worry especially given their recent poor away form at Bramall Lane.

Both teams though do have goals in them but it is probably going to be a case of which defence is better on the day as to who wins this clash, although I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re headed for a draw.

Prediction: Sheffield Utd 1-1 Wolves

Result: Sheffield Utd 0-1 Wolves
