Lincoln City have signed defender, Daniel Oyegoke from Hellas Verona for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Oyegoke’s move comes after just 19 months at Hellas Verona in which he made 22 appearances in all competitions – including 15 league appearances last season as the Italian club were relegated from Serie A to Serie B.
Verona consequently decided to accept an undisclosed offer from Lincoln City that allowed the 23-year-old right-back to return to England, with Oyegoke having now signed a four-year contract until June 2030.
“Our journeys align at the minute. The club was promoted and wants to do good things this season, and it’s the same for me. I want to crack on this season and do good things.
“It’s a fantastic league, everyone knows that. It’s a difficult league and I think the squad we’re building here can do really well in this division this season.
“I just want to be part of it. I want to show everyone what I can do, what the team can do and have a really successful season here.”
Oyegoke began his career at Barnet as a forward before he transitioned to a right-back role whilst at Arsenal’s Academy between 2017-21.
He then joined Brentford in July 2021 but failed to make a single senior appearance as he instead found himself loaned to MK Dons for the 2022-23 season, where he made 18 appearances as the Dons suffered relegation from League One to League Two.
A successful 2023-24 season followed on loan at Bradford with 28 appearances in all competitions and led Hearts to sign him in June 2024, in a short six-month spell which saw him make 26 appearances and scored his maiden professional goal in a 4-0 Scottish Premiership home win over St Mirren.
