Tottenham Hotspur have signed winger, Savinho from Manchester City for £85m.
Tottenham’s eventual capture of Savinho comes after over a year of negotiations with City who had refused to sell the 22-year-old winger last season.
City eventually accepted a £85m bid which consisted of a £75m fixed fee plus £10m in further add-ons, of which £5m of the add-on clauses are set at an achievable level, with Savinho having signed a five-year contract with Spurs until June 2031 with option for a further year.
In his first interview as a Spurs player, Savinho joked about the year-long negotiations but is relishing the opportunity and will wear the number 17 shirt.
“It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here. It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.
“As soon as I spoke to the Head Coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.”
Tottenham Head Coach, Roberto De Zerbi added; “Sávio is a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.
“We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team.”
Savinho began his career at Atletico Mineiro where he broke into their first-team squad and registered two goals in 35 appearances between 2020-22, and helped them to six titles;

- 1 x Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A (2021)
- 1 x Supercopa do Brasil (2022)
He then was sold to City Football Group in June 2022 and assigned to France’s Troyes but never made a single appearance for Troyes, as he was loaned to PSV Eindhoven a month later but only made eight senior appearances for the Dutch club as they won the Johan Cruyff Shield and KNVB Cup.
2023-24 season saw him enjoy a successful loan spell in Spain at Girona with 11 goals in 41 appearances, which led to City signing him from Troyes in summer 2024, and he had since gone on to register seven goals and 15 assists in 84 appearances for the Cityzens.
His time at City also saw him feature in their 2024 FA Community Shield success and last season’s domestic cup double of Carabao Cup and FA Cup titles.
At international level, Savinho has scored one goal in 13 senior caps for Brazil.
