Burton Albion have signed defender, Harvey Araujo from Fulham for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Araujo’s move has ended his decade-long stint at Fulham where he came through their academy but failed to make a single first-team appearance, amidst loans at Chesterfield and Colchester United in the last two seasons in League Two where he made 54 combined appearances.

Araujo has signed an initial three-year contract at the Pirelli Stadium until June 2029, albeit with an option for a further one-year extension.

Burton Albion’s Head Coach, Gary Bowyer has welcomed Araujo’s arrival and is keen to help him continue his progress.

“We are pleased to be able to bring Harvey to the club. He has experience of playing men’s football in Sky Bet League Two, so we look forward to working with him and continuing his development.”

Burton’s Sporting Director, Richard Dorman added: “Harvey is a really promising young player and someone who perfectly fits the type of player we are looking to work with here at Burton Albion. He is comfortable on the ball, and, more importantly, he is a defender first.

“To get Harvey here on a long-term deal is fantastic, and we look forward to seeing how he develops in the years to come.”
