Notts County have completed a double season-long loan signing of Ishe Samuels-Smith and Hindolo Mustapha from Chelsea and Crystal Palace respectively.

Defender, Samuels-Smith is embarking on his second loan stint away from Chelsea after he made eight appearances on loan at Swansea last season, where he previously knew Notts County’s Director of Football – Richard Montague.

Upon confirmation of the 20-year-old centre defender and wingback’s arrival on loan, Montague revealed his belief that Samuels-Smith can contribute to both their defence and attack.

“Ishe is a talented young player who is capable of contributing in both attacking and defensive phases.

“He’s athletic and, standing at 6ft 1”, brings a strong physical presence – and his committed and determined nature is backed up by the fact he has captained Chelsea’s Under 21s on a number of occasions.

“We know we can provide Ishe with a great opportunity to develop this season and we’re looking forward to working with him.”

Mustapha meanwhile boosts the Magpies’ attacking midfield after he terminated his loan at fellow League One club, Wigan, in order to make the move to Meadow Lane.

Montague explained that the 20-year-old “was one of our top targets this summer,” so is “delighted” to sign a player who adds power and direct quality to their play with variety in his end product.

“He’s powerful, skilful and direct – and capable of scoring different types of goals.

“Hindolo needs a settled home to really establish himself in the men’s game and that’s what we’ll be providing him with.”

Mustapha previously spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at West Bromwich Albion but made just two appearances.
