Ethon Archer felt that Bromley enjoyed “a very good test” in their 1-1 friendly draw against Millwall.

Archer fired the Ravens into a half-time lead before Mathis Servais rescued Millwall an eventual draw with his 56th-minute equaliser.

The 23-year-old winger post-match credited Alex Neil’s Lions for giving Bromley a proper battle in an interview on Bromley’s YouTube channel, with the draw having come just days after the Ravens stunned Crystal Palace 3-0 in their first pre-season friendly at home.

“It was a very, very good game, very good test for us. Um, obviously, a team being in the league above and just about missing out on the Premier League promotion. But, yeah, I think it was a very good test and I think we played very well and we stuck to what we know best and done good at it.”

“That’s obviously one win against um, Palace and then just unlucky not to get a win here, but with a 1-1 draw, we’ll happily take that against an opposition like Millwall.”

Archer proceeded to add that he enjoyed being able to produce his best quality in the game and net his first goal as a Bromley player, as he praised his teammates for their defensive resilience.

“Yeah, it was very enjoyable. Obviously, when I like to play, I like to play with freedom and that enjoyability. But I feel like the boys, I’ve got to give a massive shoutout to them because they dug deep. They were very, very solid defensively, especially, and I think we put out a very good performance.

“Yeah, most definitely. I’m just hoping to get more and more.”

The friendly draw was played in front of a packed crowd with Archer happy to have found his feet at home quickly with caring home fans.

“Yeah, it feels very homely and um, I feel comfortable when it’s like this and it’s very supportive and they’re just backing us all the way and that’s what I love about the club.”

Archer is now looking “forward to every game and trying to help the team out” as much as he can, as preparation continue for their season-opener on Saturday 8 August at 3pm BST against Reading in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

“Yeah, I feel like me and the boys look and feel very ready for obviously, our first game against Reading. And um yeah, it’s been obviously tough, but it’s what we needed to get us that match fitness and get ready for the first game of the season.”

“Yeah, it’s around the corner. It’s nearing closer. So I feel like we just becoming more and more ready for it.”
