Midfielder, Ibrahim Sangare has signed a new three-year contract at Nottingham Forest until June 2029.
Since his arrival from PSV Eindhoven in September 2023, Sangare has registered two goals and four assists in 77 appearances across all competitions and was a key player in their run to the semi-finals of last season’s UEFA Europa League, where they lost to eventual champions – Aston Villa.
The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international has since signed a new contract to stay at Forest until June 2029, which has left him “delighted” to tie down his future ahead of the new season.
“I’m delighted to sign the new contract. It’s a good moment too for me to thank the fans. Last season wasn’t always easy, but they were always with us and I have always felt their support.
“It’s been three years here and it has become a family for me in that time. I feel good, I have learned a lot, and worked hard to get to this point. I’m really looking forward to working with the new coach and for the season to start.”
Forest’s Chief Football Officer, George Syrianos added: “Ibrahim arrived here with experience of playing at the highest level in Europe, and has continued to develop both on and off the pitch.
“Ibra plays an important role in the team, he has the respect of his teammates and having been here for three years, he has a good understanding of what it means to represent Nottingham Forest.
“We are all delighted he has signed a new deal. It’s a reward for his ongoing influence on the pitch, for his quality, and I know he shares our ambition to make sure this Club continues to move forward.”
