Victor Adeboyejo believes that Bromley are heading “in the right direction” following his free transfer to the club.

Adeboyejo is Bromley’s seventh signing of the window as he joined on a free transfer following his release from Mansfield Town.

The 28 year-old is happy to have sorted out his future and feels confident in his first interview with the club’s YouTube channel that the Ravens are on the rise ahead of their first season in League One.

“I’m very very grateful. It started off being a sort of long journey to getting everything sorted, but I’m really grateful that we got over the line and I’m happy to be here.”

“Um, the way it was explained to me, the way it was shown, it was it’s a club that’s going in the right direction. Um it’s a much bigger club than you would think outside looking in. Um the manager, the owner, they’ve really shown their faith and their trust in me and sort of trying to in terms of wanting to bring me in and I really appreciate their support and choosing me.”

Adeboyejo added that he is relishing the challenge which fits his ambitions whilst marking a return to London after several years playing up in the North and Midlands, but is aware that he is effectively boarding Bromley’s train in terms of upward ambition.

“Yeah. Um, like I said, the club’s in the right direction. It’s pushing the right direction in terms of its ambition and its goals, and it’s something that sort of aligns with my ambitions and my goals in terms of going forward. So, yeah, I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

“I’ve been up north a lot of my career, so it’s nice to be back south with the family and some of my close people. I mean, the club, like I said, is pushing in the right direction. Um, and I’m sort of joining the ambition and the train in terms of trying to push forward.”

Throughout Andy Woodman’s time at Bromley since he arrived in March 2021, he has cultured a close-knit dressing room, which Adeboyejo believes is a positive and can’t wait to use the pre-season trip to Portugal to bond with his new teammates

“Yeah, I am really looking forward to, like you said, there’s seven new signings, so of course there’s going to be a bit of time to get everyone gelling in together, but the spirit that the manager has created in the last five years, and you can kind of feel it walking in the building.

“So, I’m really looking forward to joining in.”

“Yeah, I mean, it’s always nice to sort of get away, get working in a different environment and sort of bond with my new teammates. So I’m looking forward to that too.”

In terms of personal ambitions, Adeboyejo is hoping to implement his “strong, powerful” qualities within his new teammates.

“Um, so I know my colleagues, I’m obviously strong, powerful, and uh I want to get goals, want to get involved in the play, want to get assist. So, I’m really looking forward to trying to implement that within the boys and within the team.”

Adeboyejo added that he is also hoping to gain more game time and helping Bromley finishing as high as possible in League One.

“Personally, I mean, sort of had a long time out injured last season. So, for me it’s getting a lot of games under my belt, getting myself consistently on the score sheet and helping the team push forward in terms of the league. So, I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“I think the league is a very exciting one this season. A lot of big teams, a lot of big competition. So, I think we’re looking forward to the challenge ahead as a team and individually as well.”
