Colombia face Portugal in a blockbuster Group K showdown at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Colombia will top the group if avoid defeat, whilst Portugal must win in order to advance as group winners otherwise they will finish second.
Team News
Colombia have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-0 victory against DR Congo.
Portugal have no fresh injury concerns after their 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan, although Tomas Araujo is unlikely to return following his absence in that match due to an unspecified injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Colombia face Portugal at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, USA, on Saturday 27 June at 7:30pm EDT (00:30am BST, Sunday 28 June), live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Colombia’s first World Cup meeting against Portugal.
- Portugal are meeting Colombia for the first time in all competitions.
- Colombia’s Daniel Munoz has scored with both of his two shots on target.
- Joao Cancelo is the only Portugal player to have made more than one interception in their first two group matches, having achieved two interceptions in two appearances.
Prediction
With top spot at stake despite having already qualified, Colombia ideally should still take this seriously if want a potentially easier knockout path and they do have the momentum after a clinical victory over DR Congo in a game where they needed patience and a ruthless moment.
Portugal meanwhile absolutely cruised past Uzbekistan in a ruthlessly front-footed attacking display but this is a proper test of their standing, especially in terms of possession given how dominant both teams have been in their group on the ball.
My instinct is therefore that this is headed for a draw as Colombia should have enough to grind out the point they need to top the group.
Prediction: Colombia 1-1 Portugal
