2025-26 Premier League: Week 38 – Fulham vs Newcastle

Fulham meet Newcastle in a mid-table final day-showdown as the 2025-26 Premier League season concludes.

Victory could see Fulham finish as high as tenth in the table, whilst Newcastle can finish as high as ninth with a win if Sunderland and Brentford both lose elsewhere.

Team News

Jonah Kusi-Asare is ruled out for Fulham with a knee injury.

Ryan Sessegnon (knock) could return but Joachim Andersen (suspension) is still ruled out.

Newcastle could be without Sandro Tonali after he suffered a minor hamstring injury during their 3-1 home win against West Ham.

Lewis Miley (fibula), Emil Krafth (knee), Joelinton, Tino Livramento (both thigh) and Fabian Schar (foot) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Fulham host Newcastle at Craven Cottage on Sunday 24 May at 4pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ app in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Fulham have won two of their last 11 league meetings against Newcastle (W2, D2, L7).
  • Newcastle have won four of their last five league visits to Fulham (W4, L1).
  • Fulham are looking for consecutive top-flight victories over Eddie Howe’s Magpies for the first time since 2012-13 & 13-14 seasons.
  • Fulham have claimed just one point in their last three matches (D1, L2).
  • Newcastle have won two of six league visits to London-based clubs this season (W2, L4).

Prediction

With their European aspirations now over after a disappointing 1-1 draw at Wolves, Fulham now need to just try and finish the season as positively as they can even despite the uncertainty over Marco Silva’s future, which feels harsh as I imagine the fans would like a chance to say goodbye if he does leave.

Newcastle meanwhile seem to have found their feet now with some tactical tweaks because they absolutely walloped West Ham in terms of press, intensity and hunger to win, and I want to see more of the same – especially from Harvey Barnes who has a point to prove after his England snub.

Both teams though are guaranteed mid-table finishes so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is either a dull draw or one of those unexpected final-day thrillers, so am going to go for something middling.

Prediction: Fulham 2-2 Newcastle
