Arsenal look to close in on the Premier League title against relegated Burnley in the final Monday Night Football of the 2025-26 season.
Victory would see Arsenal re-open their five-point lead over Manchester City, which would mean that City must beat Bournemouth on Tuesday evening to take the title fight to the final day.
Burnley meanwhile will guaranteed a second-bottom finish with a win.
Team News
Ben White is ruled out of Arsenal’s last two league matches after he suffered a knee injury in the first half of their 1-0 victory at London rivals, West Ham.
Riccardo Calafiori (knock) is a doubt but Jurrien Timber (ankle) and Mikel Merino (foot) remains absent.
Burnley could be without Hannibal Mejbri after he suffered a knock in their 2-2 draw at home to Aston Villa.
Josh Cullen (ACL), Conor Roberts (Achilles) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Arsenal host Burnley at Emirates Stadium on Monday 18 May at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League channels in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Arsenal have avoided defeat in their last six meetings against Burnley (W4, D2).
- Burnley have claimed just four points in their nine previous Premier League visits to Arsenal (W1, D1, L7).
- Arsenal have kept clean sheets in four of their last five meetings against Burnley, except for 3-1 home win in November 2023.
- Mikel Arteta’s Gunners haven’t conceded in three of their last four league matches at home (W3, L1).
- No Burnley player has produced more shots on target than Jaidon Anthony (52).
Prediction
With a marginally weaker goal difference compared to Man City who play on Tuesday albeit two points behind the Gunners, this is a massive chance for Arsenal to put the title in their own hands going into the final day if City win at Bournemouth.
I however do feel that they must be much sharper and clinical because they ideally need a strong win by two or three goals to put the pressure on City, especially after they narrowly beat West Ham in a pretty dominant but wasteful performance last weekend.
Burnley though produced a gritty display in their draw against Villa because they definitely brought plenty of fight and clinically made good use of spells when on top, so I would like to see them deliver more of the same here but they will have to be defensively solid if want a surprise win.
I however just think that this will be an one-sided game because Arsenal realistically should be too strong if they turn up with their top game.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Burnley
Result: Arsenal 1-0 Burnley
