Manchester United look to secure a third-placed Premier League finish against Nottingham Forest.
Victory or a draw would see Man Utd guarantee their third-placed finish, whilst Forest can climb to 13th with a win for at least a few hours.
Team News
Casemiro is available for Man Utd in his final appearance at Old Trafford, having sat out their goalless draw at Sunderland due to a knock.
Benjamin Sesko (shin) and Manuel Ugarte (back) are doubts but Matthijs De Ligt is still sidelined with a back injury.
Forest have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle.
Zach Abbott, Morgan Gibbs-White (both concussion), Dan Ndoye and Ibrahim Sangare (both knock) all face late fitness checks.
Ola Aina (knock), Murillo (muscle), Callum Hudson-Odoi (quad), Willy Boly, Nicolo Savona and John Victor (all knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Forest at Old Trafford on Sunday 17 May at 12:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League channels in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man Utd are winless in their last four meetings against Forest (D1, L3).
- Forest have won just one of their last six top-flight trips to Man Utd (W1, L5).
- Both of Man Utd’s last two home clashes against Forest have ended in 3-2 results – of which both teams took one win apiece, whilst Utd’s Bruno Fernandes scored in both matches.
- Utd are looking to avoid going two consecutive league matches without scoring for the first time since May 2025.
- Forest have kept one clean sheet in their last five league matches (W3, D2).
Prediction
After a pretty lacklustre performance at Sunderland where their defensive resilience proved key to a deserved draw, Utd now need to turn up and make sure that they wrap up third with a game to spare whilst this is also a chance to give Casemiro a strong send off for the last time at home.
Forest meanwhile are now safe so this is a pretty meaningless match but I still expect them to come out and produce a good fight given that there is prize money associated with their eventual league finish at stake, but they need to be more clinical than they were in an evenly-matched draw against Newcastle.
Given the dead rubber vibes around this match, I expect this to either be a dull game or an entertaining battle between two teams who have improved in the second half of the season, but my heart is saying a draw.
Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Forest
Result: Man Utd 3-2 Forest
