2025-26 Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Finals: First Leg – Hull vs Millwall

Hull host Millwall in the first leg of their 2025-26 Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final.

Hull finished the league campaign in sixth place after a final-day win over Norwich to secure their spot in this play-off, whilst Millwall finished third and missed out on automatic promotion by a single point.

Team News

Hull have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-1 victory at home to Norwich on the final day of the regular season.

Cody Drameh (quad), Eliot Matzo (ACL), Toby Collyer (hamstring), Amir Hadziahmetovic and Nathan Tinsdale (both knee) remain absent.

Millwall could welcome Josh Coburn back after he missed their final-day victory at home to Oxford United – due to a hip injury.

Joe Bryan (muscle), Lukas Jensen (Achilles), Dan Kelly (hamstring), Caleb Taylor (foot) Benicio Boaitey-Baker (groin) and Massimo Luongo (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Hull host Millwall at MKM Stadium on Friday 8 May at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Having lucked into that last play-off spot by virtue of that win over Norwich and Wrexham’s slip-up, Hull now need to make this leg count because this is a favourable tie given their head-to-head form against Millwall, but their defence is their biggest inner threat given its fragility.

Millwall meanwhile might not be the biggest club on paper in these play-offs but they’ve punched above their weight this season, so I hope that they can use the pain of not going up automatically by one point as motivation but they ideally need to get something from this leg given their poor form against Hull.

Nevertheless I am expecting a tough scrap because neither team will want to lose this crucial first leg and a draw might actually suit Millwall, as it will put them in the driving seat especially given manager – Alex Neil’s experience in these EFL play-offs.

Prediction: Hull 1-1 Millwall

Result: Hull 0-0 Millwall
