Ex England Women striker, Ellen White will be added to the National Football Museum’s Hall of Fame.

White joins a growing list of female players named in the Hall of Fame which currently include her ex teammates, Alex Scott, Jill Scott and Steph Houghton amongst other notable names, having achieved 52 goals in 113 international senior caps.

The former forward also was part of the first England Women’s team win a major tournament when the Lionesses won the Women’s Euro in 2022 on home soil, and first England senior team to achieve success in that competition after the men’s side fell short in 2021 coincidentally at Wembley Stadium, London.

White also helped England achieve the 2013 Cyprus Cup, 2019 SheBelieves Cup and 2022 Arnold Clark Cup titles, before she retired a few weeks after the Euros success.

“It’s a real honour to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame,” commented White on being inducted.

“Football has given me so many incredible experiences and opportunities, and to be recognised alongside so many people who have shaped the game is very special.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating at the Museum and sharing the moment with family, friends and fans.”

White will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame on 18 June at the National Football Museum, Manchester, which will also recognise ‘… continued contribution to football and wider society since hanging up the boots.’

National Football Museum’s CEO, Tim Desmond added: “Ellen White has been one of the defining figures in the modern era of English football.

“Her achievements on the pitch are exceptional, but just as important is the role she continues to play in growing the game, inspiring the next generation and representing football with warmth, intelligence and integrity. We are delighted to welcome her into the Hall of Fame.”
