2025-26 League Two: Week 46 – Bromley vs Walsall

Bromley chase the 2025-26 Sky Bet League Two title in a home clash against Walsall on the final day of the season. 

Only a victory could see Bromley snatch the title if MK Dons fail to win at Fleetwood Town, whilst Walsall can finish as high as 10th if Crewe Alexandra and Oldham both fail to win elsewhere.

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-0 defeat at Salford.

Byron Webster could make his ninth start of the season in his final match as a Bromley player, following his decision to step down as a member of the squad after this match.

Jesse Debrah (unspecified) and Michael Cheek (hamstring) remain absent.

Walsall have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-0 loss at home to Harrogate Town.

• Walsall drew 2-2 in their only previous EFL visit to Bromley in March 2025.
• This EFL fixture is yet to see Bromley or Walsall keep a clean sheet.
• Victory or a draw would see Bromley go a whole league campaign unbeaten at home for the first time in their history.
• Walsall have won just one of their last six matches (W1, D2, L3).

 

Prediction

With the title now out of their hands and needing Fleetwood to do them a huge favour, Bromley just need to focus on themselves because they played well in the first half at Salford but just let their intensity deflate in the second half with little urgency to fight back.

I therefore want to see them produce a more consistent performance in terms of intensity and hopefully their clinical end product returns after a small slump lately, as this is a huge chance to at least go the whole league campaign unbeaten at home on top of their promotion.

Walsall meanwhile have little to play for other than pride and a potential top-ten finish but with one win in six and blanks in two of their last three matches, I don’t see them spoiling Bromley’s sold-out party unless they turn up with a big improvement.

Both teams though are defensively vulnerable so I do expect some goals but Bromley realistically should win this in what should be the perfect farewell for captain, Webster.
