2025-26 Premier League: Week 34 – Liverpool vs Palace

Liverpool look to keep their UEFA Champions League qualification on course in a tricky Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Victory could lift Liverpool as high as third in the table, whilst Palace could go 11th with a win if Fulham and Sunderland both lose elsewhere.

Team News

Giorgi Mamardashvili is ruled out for Liverpool with a knee injury suffered in their 2-1 Merseyside derby win at Everton.

Although Freddie Woodman is expected to start in goal with Alisson having recently been sidelined with a muscle injury, Arne Slot is considering rushing the Brazilian back into the starting line-up ahead of his planned return next weekend.

Joe Gomez (muscle) could also make an earlier return than Slot anticipated, but Wataru Endo (ankle), Conor Bradley (knee), Hugo Ekitike (Achilles) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) remain absent.

Palace could be without Nathaniel Clyne due to illness, with the defender set to make his 250th appearance against his former club if he is fit for selection.

Adam Wharton (adductor) could also feature but Evann Guessand, Cheick Doucoure (both knee) and Eddie Nketiah (hamstring) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Liverpool host Palace at Anfield on Saturday 25 April at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having battled their way to a last-gasp winner at Everton to make it two straight league wins, Liverpool now have a top-five finish in their own hands but their recent record against Oliver Glasner’s Eagles hasn’t been the best, although this is their fourth meeting of the season in all competitions.

Palace though have to be more clinical than they were in their goalless draw against West Ham because they were just frankly boring despite having a late goal disallowed, but this is the type of fixture that I expect Palace to bring more fight and quality especially if Woodman starts in goal for Liverpool.

Nevertheless I can see a close battle unfolding and wouldn’t be surprised if this ends in a point apiece.

Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace

Result: Liverpool 3-1 Crystal Palace
