With the semi-finals now within sight, eight teams began the Quarter-Finals knowing that aggregate victory would see them move closer towards the trophy which is currently held by PSG, who faced a difficult test against Liverpool.

Arsenal meanwhile were joint-favourites alongside Bayern Munich with bookmakers as the pair faced tricky opposition in Sporting Lisbon and 15-time winners – Real Madrid respectively, whilst Atletico Madrid faced Barcelona in an all-Spanish showdown.

PSG 4-0 Liverpool

Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia fired PSG into a 2-0 aggregate lead with victory at home in the first leg.

The reigning champions eventually advanced 4-0 on aggregate after Ousmane Dembele’s late brace saw them claim a 2-0 win in the away leg at Anfield.

Atletico Madrid 3-2 Barcelona

Julian Alvarez’s free-kick and Alexander Sorloth’s finish saw Atletico Madrid take control of the tie with a 2-0 first leg victory, as Barcelona found themselves reduced to ten men after Pau Cubarsi was red carded for a first-half. foul on Giuliano Simeone.

Ademola Lookman’s consolatory 31st-minute finish eventually saw Atletico prevail 3-2 on aggregate despite a 2-1 second-leg defeat at home, after early strikes from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres levelled the tie initially but Barcelona again finished a man down after a late red card for Eric Garcia.

Arsenal 1-0 Sporting Lisbon

Kai Havertz struck in the 91st minute to hand Arsenal a 1-0 victory in their away leg against Sporting in Lisbon, as he turned in Gabriel Martinelli’s forward pass.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners eventually prevailed on aggregate after a goalless second leg at the Emirates Stadium, London, which secured them a semi-final tie against Atletico Madrid.

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

Goals from Luis Diaz and Harry Kane either side of half time handed Bayern Munich a 2-1 first-leg victory away at Real Madrid, despite Kylian Mbappe’s 74th-minute consolatory finish for the Galacticos.

Diaz and Kane were again on the scoresheet alongside Aleksandar Pavlovic and Michael Olise as Bayern came from behind to beat nine-men Real Madrid 4-3 at home for a 6-4 aggregate win, with Arda Guller’s brace and Mbappe’s effort having levelled the tie on aggregate at half time but Guller and Eduardo Camavinga were handed late red cards.
