Relegation-battling West Brom face promotion-chasing Millwall in a massive Sky Bet Championship showdown.
Victory would lift West Brom up to 19th ahead of the weekend’s action, whilst Millwall can go second if avoid defeat until at least Saturday afternoon.
Team News
Tammer Bany is a doubt for West Brom after he missed their 0-0 draw at Blackburn due to a thigh injury, and will again be subject to a late fitness test.
Krystian Bielik (shoulder), Karlan Grant (hamstring), Mikey Johnston (ankle) and Jed Wallace (calf)
Millwall could welcome Alfie Doughty back into contention if he passes a late fitness test on a calf injury, which has kept the midfielder out for the last month.
Lukas Jensen (Achilles), Dan Kelly (hamstring), Benicio Boaitey-Baker (groin) and Massimo Luongo (knee), remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
West Brom host Millwall at The Hawthorns on Friday 10 April at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- West Brom are winless in their last nine meetings against Millwall (D6, L3).
- Millwall are winless in their last seven league trips to West Brom (D5, L2).
- West Brom’s last three matches at home against Millwall have ended in 0-0 draws.
- West Brom are unbeaten in their last six matches (W2, D4), during which they kept clean sheets in three of their last four games.
- Millwall have claimed four points from two of their last four matches (W1, D1, L2).
Prediction
Only four points clear of the relegation zone, West Brom have a fairly decent run-in so I do think that they will be fine eventually but they have to be more clinical than they were at Blackburn if want to win this game and pull further away from the drop.
Millwall though need to stop their recent inconsistency and start to put together another winning run because after their loss to Norwich on Easter Monday from 1-0 up, this is now a crucial game because they can’t afford to again blow those sort of leads in a tight race for second.
Victory therefore is imperative for Alex Neil’s Lions but their recent away record at The Hawthorns isn’t exactly the best although they have often snatched draws, but this is the time to end that particular stat and I do fancy them to do that if they can stay focused and kill the game off when on top.
Prediction: WBA 1-2 Millwall
Result: WBA 0-0 Millwall
