Brentford continue their push for a top-seven finish against rock-bottom Wolves as the latest round of Premier League action concludes.
Victory would see seventh-placed Brentford move four points clear of eighth-placed Everton, whilst Wolves will remain bottom of the table irrespective of the result.
Team News
Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to report following their FA Cup exit at West Ham, with Reiss Nelson set to be available subject to a late fitness test following his recovery from a calf injury.
Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey (both hamstring), Vitaly Janelt (metatarsal), Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined.
Wolves will welcome Andre back into contention after he was suspended for their FA Cup exit at home to Liverpool.
Jose Sa (ankle) faces a late fitness check, but Enzo Gonzalez Medina (knee) remains absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Wolves at Gtech Community Stadium on Monday 16 March at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford are unbeaten in their last four league meetings against Wolves (W3, D1).
- Wolves have lost just one of their four previous Premier League trips to Brentford (W2, D1, L1).
- Brentford have won two of their last four league games against Wolves by 2-0 results, albeit away from home.
- Brentford have lost two of their last three home matches by 2-0 results (D1, L2).
- Wolves are winless in their last 12 top-flight away matches (D4, L12)
Prediction
Having twice battled back to hold West Ham in a scrappy entertaining London derby befitting of an all top-flight FA Cup tie, Brentford will of been disappointed to lose on penalties after a mistake from Dango Ouattara but they still have European qualification via the league in their own hands.
Wolves meanwhile are pretty much down so had a free hit at the FA Cup but were simply outclassed by Liverpool, so their aim now has to be on building momentum to take into next season’s Championship starting with a strong performance here.
I however do think that Brentford will put their painful cup exit behind them with a win here if they turn up with the right attitude – which they’ve lacked in their last two home clashes against teams below them, but Wolves should keep them honest if they can pick up their recent league form again.
Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Wolves
Result: Brentford 2-2 Wolves
