Burnley continue their fight for Premier League survival against top-seven chasing Bournemouth.
Victory would move second-bottom Burnley to within six points of safety, whilst Bournemouth can go eighth with a win by three goals or more.
Team News
Zian Flemming is set to return for Burnley after he missed their 2-0 loss at Everton due to a calf strain.
Marcus Edwards could also be available after his recovery from a knock.
Armando Broja (knock), Axel Tuanzebe (Achilles), Zeki Amdouni (knee), Josh Cullen (ACL), Conor Roberts (Achilles), Mike Tresor (ankle) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Bournemouth have no fresh injury concerns to report after their goalless draw against Brentford in their last outing.
Julio Soler (unspecified), Lewis Cook, Ben Doak (both hamstring) and Justin Kluivert (knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host Bournemouth at Turf Moor on Saturday 14 March at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley have lost two of their last seven league meetings against Bournemouth (W4, D1, L2).
- Bournemouth have won two of their five previous Premier League visits to Burnley (W2, L3)
- Andoni Iraola’s Cherries have won each of their last two visits to Burnley in all competitions by 2-0 results.
- Flemming has scored in each of his last two appearances for Burnley (D1, L1).
- Bournemouth have dropped eight points in their last five matches (W1, D4).
Prediction
Having lacked much quality at Everton until too late just days after they lost out at home to Brentford in a thriller, Burnley will be thankful to have had last weekend off to just reset and focus on sorting their performance issues, particularly because they’re pretty much down now barring a great escape.
Bournemouth meanwhile are embroiled in a competitive battle for seventh and potential European qualification but will of been frustrated to had not beaten Brentford despite their better finishing, but that point could be key come end of season although they must win this sort of game though against lower teams.
Although I expect Burnley to be up for the fight after their week-and-a-half off, I do think that Bournemouth will have too much quality for them here.
Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Bournemouth
Result: Burnley 0-0 Bournemouth
