Wolves host Liverpool at Molineux as the fifth round of the 2025-26 FA Cup gets underway.
Victory would see Wolves or Liverpool progress to the Quarter-Finals for the second time in three seasons.
Team News
Andre is suspended for Wolves after he picked up yellow cards in the third and fourth rounds of this season’s competition.

Liverpool could welcome Florian Wirtz into contention following his recovery from a back injury which has kept him out of their last three matches.

When is Kick-Off?
Wolves host Liverpool at Molineux on Friday 6 March at 8pm GMT, live on BBC One and TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wolves have won five of eight previous FA Cup ties against Liverpool (W5, L3), although their most recent tie needed a replay after a 2-2 draw at Anfield; of which Liverpool won the replay 1-0 at Molineux.
- Liverpool have won two of their six previous FA Cup visits to Wolves (W2, L4).
- Of the three clean sheets across nine total meetings between Wolves and Liverpool in the FA Cup, Wolves managed just one clean sheet to Liverpool’s two clean sheets.
- Wolves have avoided defeat in four of their seven FA Cup matches at home to top-flight opposition this decade (W3, D1, L3).
- Liverpool have lost four of their seven FA Cup away ties against top-flight opponents (W3, L4).
Prediction
Having hosted Liverpool just three days ago in the Premier League, Wolves can come into this tie full of confidence after a clinical counter-attacking display which ripped spaces within the Reds’ defence, but they now will need to find a way to mix it up more as Liverpool will now be wise to their tactics.
Arne Slot’s Reds however must be more clinical than they were on Tuesday evening if they want to keep their FA Cup ambition alive, which will involve adopting a lower defensive block to limit Wolves’ counter-attacking threats otherwise a cupset could be on the cards.
Molineux also hasn’t exactly been often kind to Liverpool in terms of away FA Cup trips but I expect them to fight their way to the win, as this is a valuable alternative qualification route into Europe in worst-case scenario whilst this is a free hit for Wolves who are set for the drop.
Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Liverpool
Result: Wolves 1-3 Liverpool
