2025-26 Premier League: Week 29 – Bournemouth vs Brentford

Bournemouth meet Brentford in a massive showdown in the race for European qualification in the 2025-26 Premier League.

Victory would lift Bournemouth up to eighth if Everton slip up elsewhere, whilst Brentford can go sixth with a win.

Team News

Evanilson is a doubt for Bournemouth after he suffered a dead leg in their 1-1 draw against Sunderland.

Julio Soler (unspecified), Lewis Cook, Ben Doak (both hamstring) and Justin Kluivert (knee) remain absent.

Brentford will welcome goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher back into contention after he missed their 4-3 win at Burnley due to personal circumstances.

Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Vitaly Janelt (metatarsal), Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Brentford at Vitality Stadium on Tuesday 3 March at 7:30pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 4 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Bournemouth have failed to win any of their seven Premier League meetings against Brentford (D2, L5).
  • Brentford have avoided defeat in their three previous Premier League visits to Bournemouth (W2, D1).
  • Brentford have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five league meetings against Bournemouth, in which they scored 13 goals to the Cherries’ seven.
  • Evanilson has scored in four of Bournemouth’s five league matches at home in 2026.
  • Nine of Igor Thiago’s 17 league goals for Brentford this season have been scored away from home.

Prediction

Now four points off the seventh-placed Bees, Bournemouth simply need to keep playing as well as they’ve done lately but be more clinical than they were against Sunderland in which they picked up a deserved draw after several pieces of firm defending when the Black Cats were energetically on top.

Brentford meanwhile really should of cruised to victory at Burnley once 3-0 up yet they defensively just imploded, and eventually got lucky through Mikkel Damsgaard’s second goal and slices of luck through VAR, so I expect to see a serious response from them and more defensive consistency.

I however do think that both teams will prove to be evenly matched so a draw feels like the best guess.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Brentford

Result: Bournemouth 0-0 Brentford
