Bristol City host Watford in a huge Sky Bet Championship clash in the race for the play-off spots.
Victory will lift Bristol City up to seventh and to within one point of sixth-placed Wrexham, with the latter currently occupying the last play-off spot.
Watford meanwhile can climb above the Robins into seventh with a win.
Team News
Rob Atkinson is likely to be ruled out for Bristol City after he suffered an ankle injury in their 2-1 comeback win at Blackburn on Tuesday evening.
Joe Williams (hamstring) is unlikely to be available but Rob Dickie (hamstring) and Luke McNally (knee) remain absent.
Watford will be without Othmane Maamma (quad) and Kwadwo Baah (knock) until Easter, after the pair missed their 2-0 home defeat to Ipswich on Tuesday.
Saba Goglichidze is set to be available after he was absent on Tuesday night due to a fitness issue.
When is Kick-Off?
Bristol City host Watford at Ashton Gate on Friday 27 February at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Bristol City have lost one of their last five league meetings against Watford (W2, D2, L1).
- Watford are winless in their last five league visits to Bristol City (D3, L2).
- Two of Bristol City’s last four league matches at home to Watford have ended in 0-0 draws.
- Bristol City have claimed seven points in five league games at home in 2026 so far (W2, D1, L2).
- Watford are yet to win an away league game in 2026 (D3, L1).
Prediction
Sat four points off the last play-off spot, Bristol City ‘s biggest issue has been their inconsistency with no consecutive wins since late December but they can take heart from their clinical comeback win at Blackburn and game management when in front.
Watford meanwhile have won just one of their last nine league games so this does feel like a must-win if they’re to get their play-off challenge back on track, otherwise they’re looking at another season in the Championship if they don’t improve after a wasteful defeat in an evenly-match test against Ipswich.
Given what is at stake for both teams, my instinct is that this will be a tight battle but Bristol City do seem to have that crucial extra quality which might be the difference.
Prediction: Bristol City 1-0 Watford
Result: Bristol City 1-2 Watford
