2025-26 Premier League: Week 26 – Forest vs Wolves

Nottingham Forest meet Midlands rivals, Wolves in a Premier League encounter at the City Ground.

Victory would see Forest stay 17th but move five points clear of the relegation zone, whilst Wolves will stay rock bottom irrespective of the result.

Wolves could welcome Andre back after he missed their 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea due to a calf injury.

Hwang Hee-chan however is ruled out with a calf injury.

Toti Gomes (hamstring) remains absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Forest host Wolves at the City Ground on Wednesday 11 February at 7:30pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 6 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Forest are unbeaten in their last six league meetings against Wolves (W2, D4).
  • Wolves have drawn all three Premier League visits to Forest (D3), of which two of the three draws ended in a 1-1 result whilst they drew 2-2 in April 2024.
  • Forest have kept clean sheets in their last two meetings against Wolves (W2), in which they scored four goals without reply albeit away at Molineux.
  • Forest have won one of their last six home matches in the top flight (W1, D2, L3).
  • Joao Gomes has played more successful short passes than any other Wolves player this season, having played 856 such passes in 24 appearances.

Prediction

Having lacked much clinical end product at Leeds until too late amidst a series of costly defensive errors, Forest simply have to reset and view this as an absolute must-win if want to boost their chances of staying up because they did start well before the mistakes surfaced.

Wolves meanwhile were slightly done dirty in their loss to Chelsea because the two penalties won against them were fairly tame, yet they didn’t exactly help themselves defensively in the build-up to Joao Pedro’s fouls in a poor first half, but they did waste too many chances when on top.

Forest though know that this is a huge chance to put the pressure on those just above them also scrapping to avoid dangling above the drop, whereas this is a free hit for Wolves so if the Tricky Trees can absorb the visitors’ pressure and be clinical then a first Premier League home win over the Old Gold is possible.

Prediction: Forest 1-0 Wolves

Result: Forest 0-0 Wolves
