Bournemouth have completed the signings of Rayan and Christos Mandas.
Rayan has completed a permanent move from Brazil’s Vasco da Gama after a successful 2025 season saw him score 20 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions, and sees the 19-year-old winger link up with his fellow Brazilian, Evanilson who arrived in August 2024.
The Cherries have reportedly paid an initial £24.7m transfer fee with £5.6m in add-ons, which could take the total fee up to £30.3m.
Rayan has signed a five-and-a-half year contract and is excited to make the move and ready to engage with the club’s project, of which he acknowledged to be a strong nurturing ground for young talent as he takes the number 37 shirt.
“I am very happy and very honoured to be here, especially with the sporting project they developed for me. I’m extremely happy. It’s a club that develops a lot of talents, so I’m very happy to be here and hope to give the fans a lot of joy.”
Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto added that Rayan has already demonstrated “impressive consistency and maturity” in his play, and is excited to see how he develops at the club.
“Rayan is a player we have followed closely and who has already shown impressive consistency and maturity for his age.
“We believe he has enormous potential, and Bournemouth is the right environment for him to continue his development and make an impact. I’m pleased that he chose our project as the one he committed to and we’re very excited to have him as part of our team, as we continue to reinvest in the squad.”
Mandas meanwhile has joined on loan from Lazio until the end of the season and is set to be the first Greek goalkeeper to represent Bournemouth if he makes at least one senior appearance.
The 24-year-old shot-stopper is excited to make the move and will wear the number 29 shirt, having made just one appearance for Lazio this season – which was his 33rd overall outing for the Italian club after he joined them from OFI in 2023, where he made 29 total appearances between 2021-23.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be a part of this club. I feel so proud, it’s a dream for me to come here and I’m really, really happy.
“From the start, when I knew Bournemouth were interested, I knew that I wanted to come here. It feels like a magical atmosphere between the players and the fans, and I like the way the team plays, so it is the right move for me to come here.”
Pinto added: “Christos is a goalkeeper who will add real strength and quality to our squad, and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.
“Having competed in Italy, he has already demonstrated his ability at the highest level with both Lazio and the Greek national team. We’re excited about the impact he can make as he brings a sense of maturity and composure, while also continuing his development as a player.”
Mandas began his career at Greece’s Atromitos in 2013 where he proceeded to graduate into the senior squad in 2017, and made 33 appearances across four years.
