Bristol City have signed forward, Katie Robinson from Aston Villa for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Robinson spent the first half of the season on loan at Everton where she failed to score in 12 appearances across all competitions, which led Villa to recall her early and subsequently agreed a deal with Bristol City which allowed Robinson return to her childhood club.

Speaking to bcfc.co.uk about her return on a two-and-a-half year contract until June 2028, Robinson said that she is happy to be back at Ashton Gate following discussion with head coach, Charlotte Healy.

“It’s nice to be back, it’s the club that I started my career at so it’s lovely to be back here again.

“I’ve had some good discussions with Charlotte and Mercury13. Our visions align and I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Healy added: “Katie is a fantastic player. She’s young, she’s quick and she’s so exciting to watch, I know the fans will be delighted to have her back at Bristol City.

“Over the past couple of seasons Katie has gained some fantastic experiences both domestically and internationally playing in the WSL and being part of the England Seniors World Cup squad.

“She’s grown as a player and knows what it takes to play at that level. Her experience will be really important to our team for the second half of the season, so I’m delighted that she chose to join us and be a part of what we’re building here at Bristol City.”

Robinson began her career with the Robins where she managed four goals in 27 appearances between 2018-20 before she moved to Brighton, where she overcame an ACL injury in her first season then was loaned out to Charlton in the second half of 21-22 season which saw her score twice in 11 appearances.

She eventually left Brighton in summer 2024 with 10 goals in 68 appearances, during which she made five appearances for England and was part of the Lionesses’ 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad which finished runner-up to Spain.

That year also saw Robinson feature in England’s successful Arnold Clark Cup and Finalissima title-winning squad.

Last season saw Robinson join Villa where she only delivered one goal in 21 appearances.
