Coventry City have signed midfielder, Romain Esse on loan from Crystal Palace until the end of 2025-26 season.
Esse joined Palace in January 2025 from Millwall and went on to score one goal in nine appearances during the second half of last season, but has struggled to make an impact this season with just eight appearances – during which he made just two starts.
Palace manager, Oliver Glasner has consequently sanctioned a loan move for the 20-year-old Lambeth-born Londoner to Coventry, in hope that he will gain regular game time with the Sky Bet Championship leaders.
Speaking to ccfc.co.uk following completion of his loan move, Esse spoke of his happiness to join the Sky Blues and challenge for promotion.
“I’m delighted to join Coventry City.
“I’m excited to express myself on the pitch and help us fight for our goal.
“I look forward to meeting the boys, the Coventry supporters and I can’t wait to get started.”
Esse could make his debut for Coventry in their third-round FA Cup tie away at Stoke City on Saturday 10 January at 3pm GMT.
