Liverpool continue their top-four push against relegation-battling Leeds United at Anfield.
Victory would move fourth-placed Liverpool five points clear of Chelsea and Manchester United, whilst Leeds can climb to 15th if win by two goals or more.
Team News
Dominik Szoboszlai is available for Liverpool after he was suspended for their 2-1 home victory over Wolves.

Leeds will be without defender, Joe Rodon after he suffered an ankle injury during their 1-1 draw at Sunderland.
Dan James (hamstring) and Sean Longstaff (calf) remain absent.

Liverpool host Leeds at Anfield on New Year’s Day at 5:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Liverpool have lost one of their last six league meetings against Leeds (W3, D2, L1).
- Leeds have won one of their last six league visits to Liverpool at Anfield (W1, D1, L4).
- Liverpool have dropped five points in their last three meetings against Leeds (W1, D1, L1).
- Arne Slot’s Reds have kept one clean sheet in their last five league matches (W3, D2).
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored seven goals in his last six appearances for Leeds (W2, D3, L1).
Prediction
Having needed patience and quick-fire goals to see off a spirited Wolves defence despite another conceded goal from set pieces, Liverpool really need to find a way to stop their defensive vulnerability in those moments especially with Leeds having found their aerial threat lately.
Leeds though will be frustrated to have not won at Sunderland because after a see-saw first half, they pretty much controlled large chunks of the second half with composure and energetic clinical play, of which their equaliser was just lovely with a nice quick-passive flow which could trouble Liverpool if not tight enough.
Anfield though isn’t an easy hunting ground for Leeds but in the middle of a congested period of fixtures and with Liverpool’s defence not that strong, I can see them clawing a draw out of this game if play well.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Leeds
Result: Liverpool 0-0 Leeds
