Isack Hadjar already feels “comfortable” at Red Bull after he made his debut for the team in the 2025 post-season F1 Test.
With the 2025 F1 season having wrapped last weekend, Hadjar switched to Red Bull for the one-day post-season test yesterday (9 December) and recorded the 21st fastest lap time as he undertook a pre-determined programme which wasn’t focused on quick lap times.
Hadjar previously drove for Red Bull as a FP1 rookie driver at Silverstone and Yas Marina in the 2024 season but this test marked his first as an official Red Bull driver, before he replaces Yuki Tsunoda in 2026.
The 21-year-old Frenchman was left pleased with how his debut in the Red Bull went ahead of his full-time promotion from Racing Bulls next season, as he spoke post test of how he has settled into the team because 2026 pre-season testing begins in late January at Barcelona, Spain.
“It was great to get my first laps in as an official Oracle Red Bull Racing driver. It’s nice to know that I’ll be able to come back in January and already have met and worked with more of the Team, having met a lot already through testing over the last couple of years.
“They welcomed me really well and I already feel comfortable with this group.”
Hadjar however is aware that the 2026 car will be totally different to his current machinery as a new wave of technical regulations come into effect, but iterated that the data gathered will be beneficial for him heading into the new season nevertheless.
“Of course, this is a totally different car to the one I will be driving in Barcelona but it was good to get a feel of the tyres. It’s also important to bank the data now and it’ll definitely help over the coming months as we build towards the new season.”
