Red Bull have announced that their Motorsport Advisor, Helmut Marko will depart the team at the end of 2025.

Marko’s departure comes after two decades in his role advising Red Bull and their sister team – currently Racing Bulls, across which he has overseen a combined 132 race victories and 171 further podium finishes across 11 individual drivers.

Isack Hadjar was the most recent driver across Red Bull’s F1 programme to achieve a podium as he finished third at 2025 Dutch Grand Prix for Racing Bulls, which has since seen him become the last driver to receive an official promotion from the sister team to Red Bull under Marko’s watch as he makes the move up next season.

Arvid Lindblad meanwhile is the last junior on the Red Bull programme under Marko to be promoted to the sister team for 2026.

During Marko’s reign, Red Bull achieved eight F1 drivers’ titles as Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen both claimed four titles across four consecutive seasons between 2010-13 and 21-24 respectively.

The Austrian constructor also achieved eight constructor titles across the 82-year-old’s time on board alongside Christian Horner, who was sacked from his Team Principal and CEO position in July amidst disappointing form in the first half of the season – although his formal exit took two months to complete.

“I have been involved in motorsport for six decades now, and the past 20-plus years at Red Bull have been an extraordinary and extremely successful journey,” commented Marko on his two-decade stint with the team as he reflected on Red Bull’s success.

“It has been a wonderful time that I have been able to help shape and share with so many talented people. Everything we have built and achieved together fills me with pride.

“Narrowly missing out on the World Championship this season has moved me deeply and made it clear to me that now is the right moment for me personally to end this very long, intense, and successful chapter.

“I wish the entire team continued success and am convinced that they will be fighting for both world championship titles again next year.”

Red Bull Team Principal, Laurent Mekies described Marko’s exit as “very sad news” for the team as he hailed Marko as “such an integral part of our team and of Red Bull’s entire motor racing programme for more than two decades.”

Mekies added: “This is therefore the end of a remarkably successful chapter. His departure will leave a void, and we will truly miss him.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for his unwavering support, not only over the past months, but also during my early days at Scuderia Toro Rosso.

“On a personal note, Helmut, along with [CEO] Oliver Mintzlaff, was the driving force behind bringing me back into the Red Bull family, first in Faenza and then this summer in my current role in Milton Keynes.

“Helmut is a real racer at heart, always pushing us to the limit, always prepared to take risks in pursuit of our goals.”
