John Bennett has completed a switch to Trident for the 2026 F2 season.
Bennett graduated into F2 with Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) for the final two rounds of the 2024 season which saw him finish eighth in the Qatar Feature Race for his best result of those two rounds.
He subsequently stayed with VAR for 2025 and managed a season-best tenth place in the Italian Feature Race at Monza in a tough campaign for the team, but has done enough to secure a switch to Trident next season where he will partner Laurens van Hoepen.
The 22-year-old Brit is “delighted” to secure the move and stay in F2 next season.
“I am very grateful for this great opportunity and to continue fighting in the second series. I can’t wait to get on track to get great results together.”
Trident Team Principal, Giacomo Ricci added: “He is a rider that we have already had the opportunity to observe in the season that has just ended where he has shown good growth. I am sure that the English driver has all the qualities to do a good job with the technical staff and compete in a competitive championship.”
