2025-26 League Two: Week 18 – Walsall vs Bromley

Walsall meet Bromley in a top of Sky Bet League Two blockbuster showdown at Bescot Stadium.

Victory would see Walsall stay top although a draw would be enough if Swindon fail to win elsewhere, whilst Bromley could go top with a win on goal difference if Swindon fail to beat Chesterfield.

Team News

Aaron Pressley is ruled out for Walsall due to a hamstring injury which saw him miss their 2-0 win at Harrogate.

Harrison Burke, Mason Hancock (both knee), Jamie Jellis (groin) and Harry Williams (Achilles) remain absent.

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-0 victory at home to Salford, although Ben Thompson is set to return after he missed their last three games in all competitions due to a foot injury.

Carl Jenkinson remains sidelined with a hip injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Walsall host Bromley at Bescot Stadium on Saturday 29 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Walsall drew both meetings against Bromley last season in 2-2 results.
  • Bromley drew 2-2 in their only previous competitive trip to Walsall in November 2024, in which Michael Cheek and Danny Imray put them ahead in-between goals from Liam Gordon and David Okagbue.
  • All eight goals across the pair of 2-2 draws between Walsall and Bromley were scored by eight individual goalscorers.
  • Walsall are yet to draw at home in the league this season (W5, L3). although they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four home games.
  • Omar Sowunmi has scored in three of Bromley’s last four league matches.

Prediction

With just two wins in their last six league matches, Walsall definitely take confidence from their dominant victory at Harrogate because this is not going to be an easy game where creativity and follow-up play to chances could be key in breaking down Bromley’s defence.

Andy Woodman’s Ravens though aren’t an easy team to predict tactics wise because in their recent winning run, they have played low-possession smash-and-grab against Colchester and Salford yet dominated Barrow, but I expect the former to be deployed here given Walsall’s high-intensity attacking style.

Both teams though do have strong set-piece records so I expect a fiercely close battle here and wouldn’t be surprised if we see another score.

Prediction: Walsall 1-1 Bromley

Result: Walsall 3-1 Bromley
