French-Japanese driver, Taito Kato has completed ART Grand Prix’s F3 driver line-up for the 2026 season.
Kato’s move into F3 comes after he finished seventh in this season’s Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) and claimed a season-best pair of third-placed finishes at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, and Circuit Paul Ricard, France.
The 17 year-old racer who races under the French flag and backed by Honda is “excited” to make the step up to F3 and stay with ART GP which will give him continuity, having drove for the team in FRECA this season.
“I’m genuinely excited about the new challenges awaiting us next year. I really thrilled to be driving for ART GP in F3 next year and to be driving with the same team as I did in FRECA.”
ART GP Team Principal, Sebastien Philippe added that Kato’s graduation into F3 is the appropriate move forward in his racing career.
“Taito integrated perfectly into the team this season in FRECA. He showed strong adaptability, great discipline, and a lot of potential that is just waiting to be fully expressed at the highest level. Moving up to FIA F3 is the natural next step in our collaboration.
“He’s still young, but he has already demonstrated real maturity in his driving and a clear desire to improve with every session. We’re excited to continue this journey together in 2026.”
Kato will partner Maciej Gladysz and his FRECA teammate, Kanato Le in F3 next season.
