Chelsea face a test of their top-seven credentials against relegation-battling Wolves.
Victory could lift Chelsea up to second if results elsewhere go in their favour, whilst Wolves will stay bottom regardless of the result.
Team News
Romeo Lavia is ruled out for Chelsea after he suffered a quad injury in their 2-2 draw away to Qarabag in the Champions League.
Pedro Neto (knock) is a doubt but Cole Palmer (groin), Benoit Badiashile (muscle), Levi Colwill (ACL), Dario Essugo (thigh) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension) are still sidelined.
Wolves will be without Emmanuel Agbadou after he was red carded in their 3-0 loss at Fulham.
Leon Chiwone (ACL), Matt Docherty (knee) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Chelsea host Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 8 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Chelsea have won two of their last five league meetings against Wolves (W2, L3).
- Wolves have won one of their last five league trips to Chelsea (W1, D2, L2).
- Ex Chelsea player, Noni Madueke scored four goals in their two league meetings against Wolves last season (W2).
- Chelsea have lost two of their last three league matches at home (W1, L2).
- Wolves have claimed one point in two visits to London-based opposition this season (D1, L1).
Prediction
Considering that they were expected to beat Qarabag, Chelsea should be relieved to even get a point after how they conceded twice after their opener but they did get a draw, amidst wasteful second-half finishing so a massive improvement is needed here.
Wolves though will hopefully be motivated from the departure of Vitor Pereira as this is a chance for them to produce a reaction, but they first must sort their defensive play out because they will need to defend well if want to get any result against Chelsea after a terrible effort at Fulham.
I however do think that Chelsea will produce a routine win because their attacking quality will prove too much for Wolves’ weak defence, although the pair did play out a Carabao Cup thriller at Molineux just over a week ago.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Wolves
Result: Chelsea 3-0 Wolves
