2025-26 Premier League: Week Nine – Man Utd vs Brighton

Manchester United meet Brighton & Hove Albion in a mid-table Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

If Chelsea draw at home to Sunderland in the mid-afternoon kick-offs, victory could lift Man Utd up to third in the table.

Brighton meanwhile will move above Utd and further into the top ten with a win.

Team News

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns after their 2-1 win at Liverpool, with only Lisandro Martinez ruled out due to a knee injury.

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 win at home against Newcastle, although Joel Veltman (calf), Kaoru Mitoma (foot), Brajan Gruda (knee) and Diego Gomez (leg) face late fitness checks.

Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), Solly March and Adam Webster (both knee) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Man Utd host Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday 25 October at 5:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Coming into this game off the back of two clinical victories over Sunderland and Liverpool either side of the international break, Man Utd can come into this game full of confidence because their defensive effort looked resilient and like a team prepared to fight for their manager for once.

Brighton meanwhile will head to Old Trafford knowing that victory is achievable given that they have won their last three trips, but they’re now facing an in-form Utd although they themselves too won last time out with a clinical display against Newcastle.

I however do expect Utd to be tougher to beat this time round but if Brighton continue to play with the attacking quality that they consistently produce, I fancy them to nick a point.

Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Brighton

Result: Man Utd 4-2 Brighton
