Bromley manager, Andy Woodman has revealed that he is aware of the “margins” ahead of the Ravens’ League Two clash against Tranmere.

Woodman’s Bromley endured a difficult September in which they were held to 2-2 draws at home to Gillingham and Chesterfield, amidst defeats at Oldham and Swindon as they slipped to 14th in the fourth-tier’s standings with just two points earned last month.

Tranmere too picked up just two points in September so Woodman is aware of the margins between winning and losing which both clubs discovered in their last four league matches, as he – in Bromley’s match preview – praised them for not being a “pushover” after they beat Bromley 2-1 in both meetings last season.

“Tranmere are a good team. You know, they’re no pushover and we must remind ourselves of that. You know they’re a decent sized club, a good manager, someone I know really well and they’ve got good players.

“Um like a lot of teams it’s margins and probably results don’t you know kind of reflect just margins where they probably haven’t taken their chances.

“Um so you know this is no easy game and there is no easy game in this league. So it’ll be a tough game and we got to make sure that the margins go our way and we’re resolute and we don’t give you know don’t give stupid goals away.”

Woodman also addressed Bromley’s winless September as he admitted that he knew that the month would be harder than August in terms of opposition, but felt that the team got carried away by their bright start to the season.

“Well I think we look if we looked on paper, September was always going to be a trickier and harder month on paper. I think because we had a decent start and we were close with the Gillingham result. I think we kind of maybe got a little bit way ahead of ourselves but kind of our expectation changed.

“Um September’s shut that’s gone and we got to make sure that we start picking points up in this month and go again. Um and we will do you know it’s a bit early for a mini crisis or a panic. You know we’ve got to make sure that the team keeps functioning and we keep picking up points.”

Bromley’s home clash against Tranmere also marks the opening of the new East Stand and Woodman is excited to have all four sides of the ground filled, ahead of an important game as the Ravens seek to end their recent dip in form.

“It’s going to be great, isn’t it? Let be honest. Un we’ve all watched it go up . Um, and it’s been exciting watching it go up, but now to have supporters in there, it’s going to be brilliant.

“And uh hopefully people find their new positions not too dissimilar to where they were before, because there’s always a good energy behind my dugout. And um yeah, really looking forward to having some noise from that side as well.”
