Rotherham host Yorkshire rivals, Bradford in a massive League One clash at opposite ends of the table.
Victory will see Rotherham climb out of the relegation zone with a win and move up to 18th, whilst Bradford will stay top for another matchweek with a win.
Team News
Martin Sherif could return for Rotherham after a month out with a hamstring injury.
Shaun McWilliams (leg) is also available for selection but Sam Nombe (hamstring) is still ruled out.
Bradford will welcome Joe Wright back into contention after he missed their narrow win over Blackpool due to a personal issue.
Aden Baldwin (calf), Lewis Richards (shoulder), Curtis Tilt (hamstring) and Calum Kavanagh (shin) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Rotherham host Bradford at New York Stadium on Thursday 2 October at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Rotherham have lost one of their last eight league meetings against Bradford (W6, D1, L1).
- Bradford are winless in their last five league visits to Rotherham (D2, L3).
- Rotherham have kept clean sheets in their last five league games at home to Bradford, during which they scored nine goals without reply.
- All seven of Rotherham’s points this season have come at home (W2, D1, L1).
- Bradford have kept just one clean sheet away from home in the league this season (W2, D2, L1).
Prediction
Despite sitting in the relegation zone, Rotherham have lost just once at home and should feel a slight sense of confidence given that they have one more goal scored at home than conceded, but their overall form is inconsistent which has to be a worry coming into this Yorkshire derby.
Bradford meanwhile were pretty lucky to beat Blackpool after converting just three of 15 shots onto target – yet they ultimately had that clinical final touch, although it wasn’t too surprising just days after a tough Carabao Cup exit at Newcastle.
Now that they have just the league to mainly focus on this month (aside from one Vertu Trophy tie, I do think that Bradford will bounce back here if they find their recent high gears and target Rotherham’s vulnerable defence.
Prediction: Rotherham 1-2 Bradford
Result: Rotherham 2-2 Bradford
