Aitana Bonmati and Ousmane Dembele were crowned 2025 Women and Men’s Ballon d’Or winners.
Bonmati became the first female player to win three consecutive Ballon d’Or titles after another impressive season, which saw her help Barcelona achieve a domestic quadruple in which she scored 15 goals and created 12 assists, and was part of Spain’s runner-up squad at UEFA Women’s Euro.
Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey finished second ahead of her teammates Alessia Russo and Chloe Kelly who placed third and fifth respectively, with Alexia Putellas placed fourth in between the latter pair.
England’s Leah Williamson, Lucy Bronze and Hannah Hampton finished seventh, ninth and tenth in the overall vote.
Across in the Men’s Ballon d’Or category, PSG’s Dembele was crowned the winner after a stunning season in which he netted 33 goals and contributed 15 assists in 49 appearances as the Parisian club achieved a quadruple.
Mohamed Salah finished fourth, whilst Cole Palmer placed eighth amongst the top ten finishers, whilst various Premier League and England Men’s players finished outside of the top ten:

Chelsea and England goalkeeper, Hampton claimed the first-ever Women’s Yashin Trophy after a bright year for the 24-year-old, as she achieved a domestic treble with Chelsea and helped England defend their UEFA Women’s Euro title.
Manchester City’s new signing, Gianluigi Donnarumma won the Men’s Yashin Trophy after he achieved a quadruple last season with PSG, consisting of; Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Trophee des Champions and UEFA Champions League.
England Women’s manager, Sarina Wiegman was voted Women’s Coach of the Year as she became the second manager to win three consecutive Women’s Euro titles, and the first to achieve that stat with two teams – having led Netherlands to the 2017 title then England in 2022 & 25.
Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor and Arsenal’s Renee Slegers were also nominated in that category, with Bompastor having achieved a domestic treble whilst Slegers led the Gunners to Women’s Champions League glory.
PSG’s Luis Enrique was crowned as the Men’s Coach of the Year after he led the French club to their quadruple, which was recognised with the Men’s Club of the Year gong to cap a memorable haul of trophies for the Paris-based team.
Arsenal Women were voted Club of the Year after they overcame a slow start to the 2024-25 season to finish second in Women’s Super League, and clinched a first UEFA Women’s Champions League title with a 1-0 victory over Barcelona in the final.
Barcelona achieved a Kopa Trophy double as Lamine Yamal collected the men’s gong, whilst Vicky Lopez won the women’s award.
Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres and Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor picked up the Men and Women’s Gerd Muller Trophy respectively, as the top goalscorers in European football.
Xana Foundation was awarded the Socrates Award for their work with children affected by serious illnesses.
