2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week Six – Sunday

Bristol City continue their promotion challenge against Oxford United in a Championship clash.

Victory or a draw will lift Bristol City up to second in the table, whilst Oxford Utd can climb out of the relegation zone and up to 21st with a win.

Team News

Rob Dickie is available for Bristol City after he shook off a minor calf injury suffered in their 3-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.

Luke McNally (ACL), Cam Pring, Joe Williams and Max O’Leary (all ankle) remain absent.

Oxford Utd will be without Matt Phillips after he suffered a quad injury in their 2-2 draw against Leicester.

Ciaron Brown (leg) remains absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bristol City host Oxford Utd at Ashton Gate on Sunday 21 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Still unbeaten and having breezed past Sheffield Wednesday in a clinical display at Hillsborough last weekend, Bristol City can come into this game full of confidence knowing that a win will put them two points off the summit.

Oxford Utd meanwhile have shown their grit in their last two games with contrastable 2-2 draws after a slow start to the season against Coventry and Leicester, which might just stand them in good stead because the Robins will pose a similar tough challenge.

I however do think that Bristol City will prove too strong if they can again keep it tight defensively but this should be a strong battle nevertheless, such is Oxford Utd’s grit and togetherness.

Prediction: Bristol City 2-1 Oxford Utd

Result: Bristol City 1-3 Oxford Utd
