2025-26 Premier League: Week Four – Newcastle vs Wolves

Newcastle United meet Wolves in a massive clash as both teams chase a first Premier League win of the 2025-26 season.

Victory could see Newcastle climb as high as ninth in the table, whilst Wolves could move off the football of the table depending on results elsewhere.

Team News

Jacob Ramsey is ruled out for Newcastle after he suffered a minor ankle injury in their goalless draw at Leeds.

Nick Woltemade could make his club debut for the Magpies, but fellow new signing – Yoane Wissa is ruled out with a knee injury.

Joelinton (groin) could return but Anthony Gordon is serving the second of his three-match top-flight ban.

Wolves will again be without Jorgen Strand Larsen after he missed their 3-2 loss to Everton due to an Achilles injury, which subsequently forced him to withdraw from international duty for Norway.

Ki-Jana Hoever (knee) and Hugo Bueno (knock) face late fitness checks but Leon Chiwone (knee) remains ruled out.

Tolu Arokodare and Ladislav Krejci are set for their Old Gold debuts.

When is Kick-Off?

Newcastle host Wolves at St James’ Park on Saturday 13 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Now that the Alexander Isak saga is over following his move to Liverpool on deadline day, Newcastle now can look to the future and hopefully find a first win of the season after two difficult goalless away games and a harsh home defeat last month.

Wolves meanwhile haven’t found much spark this season in the league but they did at least take advantage of some sloppy moments in their defeat to Everton, which they must use as a platform to build on coming to a stadium where they’ve failed to win in their last six trips.

I however just can’t see Newcastle losing this if they turn with the right attitude and clinical touch, although Wolves will hopefully give them a test if can bring more clinical quality to their attack.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Wolves

Result: Newcastle 1-0 Wolves
