2025-26 League Two: Week Eight – Oldham vs Bromley

Oldham host Bromley in a massive Sky Bet League Two clash at opposite ends of the table.

Victory could see Oldham climb as high as 12th in the table, whilst Bromley can go top with a win if Gillingham, Swindon, Walsall and Grimsby all fail to win.

Team News

Oldham have no fresh injury concerns to report following their first win of the season at Cambridge United

Jack Stevens (ankle), Kai Payne (knee), Joe Garner, Jake Leake and Kieron Morris (all unspecified) remain sidelined.

Joe Quigley misses out as he serves the last of a two-match suspension.

Bromley manager, Andy Woodman could hand deadline day loan signing, Lakyle Samuel his debut after the defender missed their controversial 2-2 draw at home to Gillingham due to international duty.

Carl Jenkinson remains sidelined with a hip injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Oldham host Bromley at Boundary Park on Saturday 13 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Oldham’s first EFL meeting against Bromley.
  • Bromley have drawn each of their last two visits to Oldham (D2), having been held to a 1-1 result in April 2023 then 0-0 in March 2024.
  • Andy Woodman’s Ravens have kept three clean sheets in their last four league meetings against Oldham (W2, D2).
  • Oldham are yet to win at home in League Two this season (D1, L2), in which they scored twice and conceded four goals.
  • Nicke Kabamba has scored in each of Bromley’s last two league matches (W1, D1).

Prediction

With a first win now under their belt after a clinical smash-and-grab winner at Cambridge where they had been outplayed for much of the game, Oldham will now be eager to get a first home victory but their defence will need to be at their best if want to keep Bromley’s front men quiet.

Bromley meanwhile absolutely battered Gillingham in the first half of their eventual undeserved draw with their intensity and finishing, but failure to convert chances at 2-0 up and a dirty injury-time dive against their favour cost them a chance to go top.

Nevertheless Woodman’s Ravens are still unbeaten in the league and that late penalty against them last weekend will only fire them up to get the win, especially with a rare week of rest and training in the lead up to kick-off but Oldham won’t make this easy now that they have that winning taste.

Prediction: Oldham 1-2 Bromley

Result: Oldham 1-0 Bromley
