2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Serbia vs England

Serbia host England in a crunch 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier in UEFA Group K.

Victory would move Serbia to within two points of England, whilst Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions can open an eight-point gap at the top of the group.

Team News

Serbia have no fresh injury concerns to report following their victory over Latvia, with Djorde Petrovic, Nikola Milenkovic and Sasa Lukic – standing out as three familiar names to England fans – expected to start for the hosts.

England have no fresh injury concerns to report coming into this match after a clinical 2-0 win over Andorra.

When is Kick-Off?

Serbia host England at Red Star Stadium, Belgrade, on Tuesday 9 September at 8:45pm CEST (7:45pm UK Time), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Serbia’s first World Cup Qualifier against England.
  • England are making their first-ever away visit to Serbia in all competitions.
  • Serbia lost their only previous meeting against England across all competitions (L1), which came in a 1-0 defeat in their group opener at 2024 UEFA Euro.
  • Serbia are yet to concede in the group (W2, D1).
  • Harry Kane has scored in just one of England’s last four away matches (W4).

Prediction

Having scraped past Latvia in a game which they ought to of won comfortably such was their dominance, Serbia simply have to be more clinical because if they lose here then automatic qualification will be a near-impossible ask realistically for them.

England though can’t come into this game high on confidence because although they clinically dispatched Andorra with two goals, their overall play was pretty turgid to say the least especially when were up against a lively Kent derby between Bromley and Gillingham at the same time on TV.

Neither team though are yet to concede in this group and I quite frankly am expecting another sluggish contest on current performance, but England should probably have the edge on quality.

Prediction: Serbia 0-1 England

Result: Serbia 0-5 England
