James Hedley has replaced Santiago Ramos at Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2025 F3 finale at Monza, Italy, from 5-7 September.

Ramos has left Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) after taking two wins in nine rounds this season which left him 14th in the drivers’ standings.

VAR in response appointed Hedley as Ramos’ replacement after the Brit was dropped by AIX Racing for Fernando Barrichello in recent days.

The 22 year-old Brit consequently was pleased to be able to see out his F3 campaign with VAR after he was an initial replacement at AIX for Javier Sagrera in round three but missed the fifth round due to a hand injury.

“Super happy to be continuing racing this weekend at Monza. I want to thank VAR very much for this last-minute opportunity.”

VAR’s Team Principal, Brad Joyce added: “We’re pleased to welcome James to the team for the final round at Monza. With prior race experience in the category and the clear potential we’ve seen from him, we expect he will adapt quickly to our environment.

“This weekend is a valuable opportunity for him to build on his time in FIA Formula 3, while for us it’s a chance to support him in making the most of it. We’re looking forward to working with him and are confident that he will make a positive impression.”
