Brentford have signed forward, Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal for 2025-26 season.
Nelson’s arrival at the Gtech Community Stadium on loan until the end of season came after the Bees accepted a deadline day offer from Newcastle for Yoane Wissa,
Brentford’s Head Coach, Keith Andrews explained that Nelson’s qualities meant that he was the ideal loan replacement for Wissa, whilst complementing the remainder of his attacking players at the club.
“Reiss has a skillset that will complement the rest of the attacking players we have. He’s a dribbler and he’s very comfortable with the ball at his feet.
“I really like his Premier League experience and know-how of the league, as well as his age profile.
“He’s coming into the optimum years of his career, and he’s shown a real desire to come here when there’s been a lot of interest elsewhere.”
Nelson graduated through Arsenal’s youth academy and has scored eight goals in 90 senior appearances since his first-team debut in Arsenal’s 2017 FA Community Shield victory over Chelsea on penalties, having played out a 1-1 draw.
He however spent 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons on loan at Hoffenheim and Feyenoord respectively, with 11 goals in 61 total appearances, before he scored twice in 12 appearances at Fulham last season prior to a season-ending hamstring injury.
