Crystal Palace have signed Spanish winger, Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in a £26m transfer.
Pino’s move marks the first time that he is representing a senior club other than Villarreal, after Palace struck a deal totalling £26m for the 22-year-old as Eberechi Eze’s replacement after Eze left the club to join Arsenal.
Pino has signed a five-year contract until June 2030 and is delighted to fulfil his dream to play English football.
“I’m very happy to be here. It is a dream of mine to come to the Premier League, to a historic club like Crystal Palace, and I hope that I can help the team.”
Chairman, Steve Parish added; “It’s fantastic news that Yeremy – an exciting young talent, with already such an impressive record in domestic, European and international football – has chosen us as the next step in his career.
“With an exciting season ahead for the club, competing on multiple fronts, he is a player whose talents Palace fans will particularly appreciate – and I look forward to seeing him step out at Selhurst Park.”
Pino began his career at Barrio Atlantico and Huracan before he joined his hometown club, Las Palmas within their youth academy in 2014, but left for Villarreal three years later.
The Spaniard went on to make his senior debut in October 2020 in a 5-3 Europa League victory against Turkey’s Sivasspor, in an impressive rookie season which saw him net seven goals in 37 appearances and featured in their Europa League winning squad.
Pino since scored 22 goals in 169 appearances for Villarreal across six seasons, during which he broke through into Spain’s senior squad in October 2021 as a substitute for Ferran Torres in a 2-1 UEFA Nations League semi-final victory over Italy after he featured in Under 17, 18 and 21 squads.
He has since gone on to score three goals in 15 senior caps and was part of their 2022-23 UEFA Nations League
