Notts County host Bromley in a stand-out League Two clash between two teams looking to challenge for promotion this season.
Depending on results elsewhere, Notts County can climb as high as ninth in the table.
Bromley meanwhile could move into the top three with a win if results elsewhere swing in their favour.
Team News
Notts County have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 4-1 midweek win at home against Shrewsbury.
Bromley are set to have Grant Smith available in goal despite the 31-year-old goalkeeper having suffered a knock in the second-half of their win at Cheltenham, although he was able to play the remainder of the match.
New loan signing, Jemiah Umolu could make his debut following his move from Crystal Palace, although he is likely to start on the substitutes bench.
Carl Jenkinson remains sidelined with a hip injury.
When is Kick-Off?
Notts County host Bromley at Meadow Lane on Saturday 23 August at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Notts County avoided defeat in their two previous EFL meetings against Bromley (W1, D1).
- Bromley drew 1-1 in their sole previous EFL visit to Notts County, but have failed to win any of their last five visits to County extending back to their time in the National League (D4, L1).
- Notts County have drawn each of their last four home games against Bromley, of which their three recent meetings finished in 1-1 results.
- Notts County are yet to keep a clean sheet in League Two this season (W1, D1, L2), whilst Matthew Dennis has scored in each of their last two games (W1, L1).
- Bromley have lost just one of their last six away games (W2, D3, L1).
Prediction
Having initially made a slow start with one point in three league matches, Notts County finally found their attacking edge against struggling Shrewsbury but I do think that this game will be a true measurement of where the Magpies currently stand such has been the closeness of their home clashes against Bromley.
Andy Woodman’s Ravens though are unbeaten and their win at Cheltenham will only consolidate their confidence because their defence is much better so far this season, whilst their overall play is more aggressive which will pose questions of County’s vulnerable defence.
Although my instinct is another draw if Notts County can build on their midweek performance, I do think that Bromley will have a win in them if they turn up and get the opener and kick on without losing focus – which was an issue at times for them at Cheltenham.
Prediction: Notts County 1-1 Bromley
Result: Notts County 2-2 Bromley
