ITV have announced their initial selection of Championship matches across 2025-26 season.

Under their sub-contract from Sky Sports which commenced in January, ITV can jointly broadcast up to ten matches per season with a majority of their picks from the Championship – although there is a clause which permits them the opportunity to choose matches from League One and League Two if preferable.

With Sky having confirmed their UK broadcast selections up to 5 January, ITV have now selected five fixtures to broadcast alongside Sky, starting with West Bromwich Albion’s trip to newly-promoted Wrexham on Saturday 16 August at 12:30pm BST.

ITV’s second match will be broadcast on Sunday 14 September at 12pm as Southampton host South Coast rivals, Portsmouth in a South Coast derby at St Mary’s Stadium.

Ipswich’s home clash against Norwich at Portman Road on Sunday 5 October will also be transmitted live on ITV in a 12pm kick-off between the East Anglian rivals.

November sees ITV head up north to Hillsborough for the Steel City derby as Sheffield Wednesday meet Sheffield United on Sunday 23 November at 12pm GMT.

Rounding off ITV’s selection of matches across the first five months of the season is a trip to Pride Park as Derby County entertain Leicester City in the East Midlands’ derby on Saturday 6 December at 12:30pm.

All five fixtures will also be live on Sky Sports Football simultaneously, with both broadcasters providing their own coverage of the action.

It is widely expected that all five games on ITV will be broadcast on ITV1 but will be officially confirmed nearer to the dates.
